Eng./ Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, accompanied by Major General/ Mohamed El-Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, opened the integrated station to fuel vehicles with CNG, liquid fuel and other services, GASTEC / Eni, at kilo 38 in Alexandria Governorate.

The minister emphasized the continuation of increasing the CNG fueling outlets as a fuel to cope with the growth in reliance on it as a fuel within the system of providing fuel in the local market, as it has many advantages, including that it is clean, environmentally friendly, low cost and high performance, and pointed to the importance of the role played by GASTEC and CARGAS the two arms of the petroleum sector, along with the private sector companies, implemented the plan for the rapid deployment of CNG fueling outlets, pointing out that the two companies have extensive experience gained from the long history of providing CNG services in the local market and the presence of two distinguished partners for them, which are the Italian Eni and the British BP.

El-Molla pointed out the importance of building on the breakthroughs achieved in converting vehicles to run by CNG, as the presidential initiative to convert vehicles to run by CNG, especially directing the plan for the rapid spread of CNG stations, added a broad impetus to what was provided by the strategy to develop and modernize the petroleum sector, which was targeted since its launch in 2016 increasing the number of beneficiaries of this civilized service, which is currently available in a geographical distribution and a distinct spread of CNG stations on the roads and important axes in the governorates and major cities.

The governor explained that the integrated station at kilo 38 has become an interface worthy of the distinguished level provided by the petroleum sector in all its fields, and is added to its valuable contributions in Alexandria Governorate, expressing his happiness with the spread of CNG stations and the strong contribution it achieves in preserving the environment and the support it provides for an important traffic axis, which is the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road.

The attendees listened to a presentation by Eng. Abdelfattah Farahat, GASTEC Chairman, in which he indicated that the opening and operation of the integrated station comes within the framework of the strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to develop fuel supply services, and expand the establishment of CNG stations in various governorates. With the aim of developing and diversifying the services provided to citizens, facilitating them and supporting comprehensive development plans in the various governorates.

The operating capacity of Kilo 38 CNG station is 1,600 cubic meters per hour, with a capacity to fuel about 2,000 vehicles with CNG per day. The station is characterized by the use of the advanced form of CNG dispensers suspended in the fueling stations in order to save space in the fueling area, and increase safety rates, as all components of the dispensers are placed in the control rooms away, which allows large areas in the stations that can be exploited in various activities to serve customers.

With the operation of the station, the number of natural gas supply stations affiliated to Gastec Company reaches 335 stations spread in 25 governorates, which is the highest geographical spread of gas supply and service stations among all companies operating in the field of vehicle gas in Egypt.

The integrated station also provides services for fueling liquid petroleum products (gasoline 92 - gasoline 95 - diesel) to the public through 12 petrol fueling points and 4 diesel fueling points, as well as other services in accordance with the partnership agreement between GASTEC and Eni, to establish model fuel stations bears the international Eni brand in various cities and governorates in Egypt and is operated by GASTEC according to the latest technical, administrative and executive specifications applied in the global stations of the Eni company.

The station is the second integrated station between GASTEC and Eni to be opened and operated in Alexandria Governorate, within 12 stations in the governorates of (Damietta - Cairo - Gharbia - Assiut - Sohag - Qena - Beni Suef - Ismailia). During the current year, another number of this modern type will be opened and operated.
