In conformity with GASTEC’s efforts to expand establishment of CNG fueling stations in accordance with strategy of Ministry of Petroleum, aiming at enhancing the network of CNG fueling stations countrywide. GASTEC launched trial operation of a new CNG fueling station in Hurghada, considered the third station for the Company in the city, the new station operates with a compressor capacity of 1100 m3/h and is equipped with three suspended charging points.
Hurghada station (3) is the first station to be executed in cooperation with National Service Projects Organization in the Armed Forces, in accordance to agreement concluded between Ministry of Petroleum represented by Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company and the two NGV Companies in cooperation with Ministry of Defense represented by National Service Projects Organization and National Company to sell and distribute petroleum products, allowing the two NGV Companies to make the best use of some vacant spaces at fueling stations affiliated to the National Company aiming at incorporating NGV service, as a part of the government’s effort to improve provided services for citizens through establishing integrated model fueling stations on roads and vital places.
It is scheduled that such agreement contributes in spreading NVG service on a large scale, especially in light of the great interest of the State currently to expand utilization of CNG as an alternative fuel, also National Company has huge and distinguish network stations located in several vital places countrywide, enhancing the State’s effort in making the best use of natural sources, optimizing the added value of such wealth and reducing dependence on importing liquid fuel products through expanding utilization of CNG hence, providing hard currency. In addition to effectively contributing in implementing polices of preserving on environment and air quality in Egyptian cities, as natural gas decreases pollutant harmful emissions for environment caused by vehicles, leading to maintaining citizens’ health.
By operating Hurghada station (3), number of CNG fueling stations affiliated to the Company reached to 100 stations spreading over 22 governorates, considered the highest geographical spread of CNG service and fueling stations among all working companies in the field of NGV in Egypt. It worth noting that GASTEC has achieved outstanding performance rates about its business results during 2019, which is evident in strengthening network of CNG fueling stations and establishing the first integrated fueling station at Port Said, with natural gas, liquid fuel, electric charging and various services for customers powered by solar energy solar.
